The Advanced Laboratory of Psychology at Gunadarma University, led by Dr. Ursa Majorsy, S.Psi., M.Si, stands out as a leading facility in Indonesia, particularly in its integration of technology with the study of human behavior. Unlike many psychology faculties in Indonesia, which may not fully recognize the impact of technology on human behavior, this lab actively incorporates technological tools to enhance research and learning.
The laboratory provides a comprehensive platform for students to engage in practical coursework, such as computerized psychological inventory tests (MBTI, 16 PF, EPPS, and so), memory and perception experiments using software like Laboratory in Cognitive and Perception (CP3), and virtual reality (VR) activities. The VR component is particularly innovative, allowing students to experience and research how virtual environments can simulate real-life situations in a controlled and safe environment. This application of VR technology is crucial for understanding human behavior in various contexts, from cognitive science to behavioral responses in simulated environments.
While the lab’s primary focus remains on supporting students in completing assignments related to courses such as Test Inventory, Cognitive Psychology, and Cognitive Science Applications, its use of technology places it at the forefront of psychological research and teaching in Indonesia. The lab is a pioneering space that highlights the importance of integrating technology into psychology, offering students a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of technology and human behavior—an area not yet fully embraced by many psychology programs in the country. As such, the Advanced Laboratory of Psychology at Gunadarma University is not only a critical teaching tool but also a hub for cutting-edge exploration in psychology, setting a benchmark for other institutions in Indonesia.
